Headquartered in Boston, MA, our company has grown from humble beginnings into one of the most recognized and beloved home furnishing brands in the country. Our Story
The House of Hampton® was founded by interior designer and entrepreneur Sarah Hampton in 2010. Sarah had a lifelong passion for interior design and decorating. After graduating with a degree in Interior Design, she worked as a designer for high-end firms in New York.
While Sarah loved the creative work, she disliked the lack of creative freedom working for other companies entailed. Sarah dreamed of starting her own brand that allowed her to have full creative control to design unique, fashion-forward home collections.
So Sarah took the plunge, left her job, and started The House of Hampton® out of her small Boston apartment. She began by designing and producing a small line of mirrors and chandeliers to sell to local boutiques. The collection was an instant hit, with Sarah’s elegant yet playful style and attention to detail resonating with customers.
The success of the initial collection gave Sarah the confidence to keep growing the company. She expanded into furniture, lighting, wallpaper and accessories. She also started selling online directly to consumers. As the business grew, Sarah brought on a small team to help manage operations.
But Sarah remained intimately involved in the creative process, designing the majority of pieces herself. Her hands-on approach and bold aesthetic vision are what make The House of Hampton® collections so special.
Today, 10 years after its founding, The House of Hampton® has become one the fastest-rising stars in home décor. Our products are sold by over 2,000 retailers across North America. We also have a popular ecommerce site that ships our collections worldwide.
The House of Hampton® headquartes is still located in Boston, but we’ve expanded into a 20,000 square foot design studio and office. Our team has grown to over 50 employees who all share Sarah’s passion for creating beautiful, design-driven home collections.
